Having root-level access to a server signifies that you can view and modify any file on it, including important system files. You may also set up software which can update specific settings on the server during the process, so that the installation can be done only if you are signed in as the root user. The latter has full privileges, which means that you will have full control over your machine whenever you want and you will be able to do anything you'd like. You can also create additional users either with identical rights or with fewer rights, according to what you need them for - everyday tasks, other server administrators, etcetera. To be on the safe side, it's generally recommended to use the root account only when you actually need it and not for tasks that you can do through other accounts. You can use a web-based graphical interface or a Secure Shell console in order to connect to the server and to manage it at the root level.
Full Root-level Access in VPS Servers
If you buy a VPS servers from our company, you will have full root-level access in 3 cases - if the server comes with no hosting Control Panel at all, or in case you select cPanel or DirectAdmin throughout the order process. In the first case, you can modify any part of the system with a Secure Shell console, while in the second, you can still use SSH in order to connect and to make modifications, but you will also have a graphical interface you can use to control your online content and many of the system settings. The root access makes our virtual server plans a very good choice if you would like to run any kind of software which you can not set up in a regular shared website hosting account. With the last Control Panel option - Hepsia, you'll be able to connect by using SSH and to manage the content on your hosting server, yet the root access privileges will be more restricted.
Full Root-level Access in Dedicated Servers
Each and every dedicated server that we supply includes full root-level access, when the server is ordered without a Control Panel, or with cPanel or DirectAdmin. If you want to set up and run heavy, resource-demanding apps and they have special requirements with regard to the server software setting that cannot be fulfilled by a conventional shared website hosting package, our servers will be the optimal solution. Without Control Panel at hand, you will be able to access the server and modify its settings and the content that you upload using a console, whereas with cPanel and DirectAdmin, you will have a graphical interface to control everything related to your online content, and also the majority of server-side settings. Of course, when you get a dedicated server without a Control Panel, you may always install some third-party software instrument manually, as long as it supports the Operating System that you have selected at registration. When you choose our Hepsia Control Panel on your order page, you will have limited root access, but you'll still be able to do lots of things through a Secure Shell console.
